You ever get the feeling that every ounce of effort you've ever put into anything your entire life was, is, and always will be for nothing?

The people I meet have turned into an endless parade of camel's-back-breaking straws; they have lost their individual luster, their uniqueness, their worth in my eyes. They are objects that stand steadfastedly in the way of an undefined goal so hazy that it can't even begin to take shape.

Why this societal preoccupation with marching resolutely on? To what end? More moments like these? Why should I pour salt in a wound that has gaped for the better part of my life? It makes no logical sense. We should, as a species, die.
